If you are a stay at home mom tired of doing the same computer based, work from home side gigs to make extra income, you may want to try this! You will get out of the house, and you can bring your kids with you to work. It is extremely flexible, and your kids may enjoy driving around and being your little helper as you make some extra cash! #WAHM #SAHM #sidegig #sidehustle #makemoneyonline #saving #makemoney #financialfreedom #personalfinance

For all of you stay at home moms, many of the side gig opportunities of today don’t make sense if they are not internet based.  This is because you can’t do a side gig like Uber (or any side gig outside the home) without paying for a babysitter.  If you have to hire a babysitter you may only net, like, $1 per hour of income!

Because of this, many computer-based side gigs are beneficial for all of you stay at home moms.

Still, many of you just don’t like to sit on a computer all day typing away – you can go stir-crazy doing this.

For this reason, UberEats may be a viable side gig option for you to get out of the house, and not have to pay a sitter while you make some extra cash.

UberEats lets you bring your kids with you!

Last week, I received an email from someone at UberEats mentioning the fact that parents can bring their children with them while driving on the platform.  I thought to myself – now THAT may be something stay at home moms and dads would be happy to do!

When it comes to driving for regular ol’ Uber, you are definitely not allowed to bring passengers along with you.  UberEats is different from driving for regular Uber in this respect.  UberEats allows you to bring your children along as you pick up food and deliver it to customers.

Different states have different laws about whether you can leave your child in your car if they are under a certain age.  So, it really depends on where you live and how comfortable you feel bringing your child with you when you deliver food.

Either way, it solves the babysitter problem/daycare expense that many stay at home moms have.

Your kids may also enjoy driving around, stopping in restaurants, and picking up food.  They may even have fun being your assistant during the day!

WAHM UberEats

UberEats is safer

I drove for Uber as a side gig for about a year.

While I am really happy to have had some extra income with Uber, I understand how some people may feel unsafe with Uber.  Sharing a car with a stranger can, at times, feel unsafe and even sketchy.

What is great about UberEats is there is no passenger.  You just stop by the restaurant to pick up the food and you deliver it to the door of the customer!

In general, UberEats may even be safer than Uber (just my personal opinion).

UberEats is easier to signup

When I signed up with Uber, I was required to have a car that was a certain make and model, had four doors, and it had to be no older than 10 years old.  There are many people who don’t meet these requirements for Uber.  UberEats is great because it has no car requirement.  It doesn’t matter what car you drive on the platform because no passengers are riding with you for Uber.

This bypasses a huge hurdle that many people face when it comes to Uber.

There is no schedule

UberEats has no set schedule.  You don’t have to pick your hours and you have no obligation to drive on certain days.  If your child needs to go to the doctor, or if they have soccer practice on certain days, you don’t have to worry about scheduling.  You literally just tap a button in your UberEats app and wait for your request.

One last note

I have read a few things about moms being scared they will receive lower ratings if they have their child with them.  I would be shocked if you were rated lower because you have your child with you.  If anything, I believe people will have more leniency and even tip you better knowing you are out trying to make some money for your child.

UberEats can be an alternative to the stay at home moms and dads who don’t want to do the computer based side gigs of the present.  It can be a fun platform for your kids to get out of the house and ride around for a few hours, and you don’t have a schedule so you can drive as little or as much as you like.

Think about UberEats if you are searching for a way to make some extra income – I think it may be a perfect fit for many of you!
